Privacy Policy

Italia Guide

Last updated: April 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Italia Guide ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. By using Italia Guide, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password via Firebase Authentication. You may also use the app as a guest (an anonymous identifier is created locally and on our servers) or sign in with providers supported by Firebase.

Profile and saved content

We store your in-app preferences (language, travel styles, selected city, sound and notification settings) and any content you save or create — such as bookmarked places, itineraries, and community pins — in Google Firestore so we can sync them across your devices.

Location

If you grant location permission, the app uses your device location to center the map and show nearby places. Your precise location is not transmitted to our servers; it is used on-device by the Google Maps SDK.

Usage data

We use Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used most often. This includes anonymized event data such as screen views, city selection, and feature interactions. It does not include personally identifiable information.

Device data

Standard device information (platform, app version, crash reports) may be collected by Firebase and Expo for reliability and debugging.

2. How We Use Information

3. Third-Party Services

Italia Guide relies on the following third parties. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies:

Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account (via the in-app delete option or by emailing us), we will remove your profile, saved content, and any personally identifiable data from our systems within 30 days. Anonymized analytics may be retained longer in aggregated form.

5. Children

Italia Guide is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@forcenebula.com.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and Firebase security rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email where appropriate.
